WU to host the 2026 DC Int'l Student Start-Up Competition

The Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Vienna) will proudly host the international Final of the Danube Cup 2026 student start-up competition on May 18, 2026, as part of the Entrepreneurship Avenue Conference within ViennaUP – The Startup Festival.

Preceeding the Final, the compeeting teams from the DC community will have a chance to introduce their project idea and demonstrate their competencies at the Semifinals on May 6, 2026 which will be hosted online. 

A Day of Innovation and Collaboration

The international final will take place at the Entrepreneurship Center on May 18, 2026 and will be integrated into the broader Entrepreneurship Avenue 2026 Conference – one of the highlights of ViennaUP – The Startup Festival. Participants can expect:

  • live start-up pitches from internationally selected student teams
  • insightful keynotes and workshop sessions from founders, investors, and ecosystem leaders
  • networking opportunities with mentors, industry experts, and fellow entrepreneurs
  • a showcase of innovation and entrepreneurial talent from across Europe and beyond

WU Vienna’s participation as host marks a continuation of the university’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and providing students with real-world opportunities to develop and scale their ventures. By linking academic learning with practical competition experience, the event highlights the transformative potential of entrepreneurial education.
